Distinctive black cherry and spice flavour balances beautifully with firm tannins. Lovely middle palate concentration and a long lingering finish.
With carful cellaring this wine will improve with up to 8 years cellaring .
The MV6 Clone grapes were grown in mudstone soil and hand-picked at optimal ripeness. Sorting was done by hand at harvest. About one third of the grapes were whole bunch in the final blend. Whole bunch grapes were tank sealed and left to commence fermentation naturally (about 6 days), then foot-stomped regularly during peak fermentation. Total time as bunches in ferment 2 weeks. The juice was transferred to tanks to settle for 2 days before being transferred to Premium French Oak barrels.
