Vitae Shiraz 2014
Round, soft supple tannins with intense rich black fruits and strong, bold acidity providing length.
This Shiraz is made predominately from fruit grown in the premium regions of Heathcote and The Grampians. The Grampians region of Victoria is renowned as one of the best Shiraz growing regions in Australia, with its Mediterranean climate and cooling influence of the Southern Ocean. Fruit was harvested once a balance between sweet fruit flavours, ripe tannins and natural acidity were achieved. Various winemaking techniques were used, with some of the fruit crushed and then fermented, while a small portion of whole berries were fermented. Once fermentation was finished, the wine was matured in both stainless steel and French oak barriques, allowing the wine to retain its fresh, fruit-driven characteristics and develop some extra complexity and spiced elements before final blending, gentle filtration and bottling.
