What's New

2009 More Medals than ever before.
Quite simply we are committed to the constant improvement of our wines. Hard to do when one of your wines, 2005 Shiraz Viognier, win ‘2007 Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide’s, Wine of the Year’. In 2008 however this commitment was rewarded with a total of 24 medals from Australian and International Shows. While we are committed to doing even better in 2009 at least this is a strong endorsement of the style and quality we are producing.

New Introductions in 2009.
2009 will be another big step in our plan to introduce wines that are in sync with the environment and consumer’s willingness to explore new styles. We will add to our line up of Shiraz Viognier, Marsanne Roussanne, Mourvedre new varieties including Albarinho and Pinot Gris.

Both will be sourced from cool climate high country areas in the Strathbogie ranges. The grapes are ripening well and show potential some really exciting wines of very high quality that we will still offer at less than $20 a bottle. We expect to release both wines around August.

New Vintages.

Whites.
Late last year we released our 2008 Viognier. Already it has won two silver and two bronze medals from shows in Australia and overseas. Viognier can often be a difficult grape to work with but Terry Barnett has produced a wine that some have rated 5 star (click to review)

The 2008 Chardonnay was bottled in January and after a month of settling it will be released to the trade and wine writers. 2008 was a great year for our Chardonnay grapes so we are looking for big things from this wine. (See the Winemaker’s comments by clicking here.)

Red.
Our flagship Shiraz Viognier has moved to the 2007 vintage. It has already been rated as one of the top 10 Shiraz wines under $20 by Master of Wine Toni Paterson. In limited showings it has won a silver medal and four bronze medals. Just recently the Herald Sun rated it 41/2 stars (click to review)
